It might not surprise you to learn that approximately 44% of all Americans own a dog. Our four legged friends are such loyal companions to both young or old and provide us with something that money cannot buy - love. So, it seems natural that we’d want to show our appreciation and inseparable bond with our faithful hounds too by pampering them from time to time. Whether you want to celebrate your dog’s birthday or just treat them to show how much you love them, pampering your dog doesn’t have to break the bank. After all, dogs don’t ask for much: they’ll show you love no matter what, so it’s only right that you return that love, and here’s some ways how you can indulge your pooch.

Giving treats to your dog

Using treats as a part of training your dog for rewarding them with good behavior is not a new concept but, from time to time, we want to spoil them just to show how much we love them. There are various ways we can give our dogs treats: from giving them new pet toys to play with to providing them with scrumptious snacks that are different to their normal food. However, it’s a good idea to change treats up frequently so they don’t get bored with the same old food. One way to do this is by having a monthly subscription box full of dog biscuits, chews and toys; this way they won’t lose interest on a particular treat given to them repeatedly.

Having pampering sessions

Most dog owners will do anything to make their loyal friend happy and this includes pampering them in some way every now and again. Whether you choose to give them a bath at home or take them to a doggie parlor, your dog will appreciate the indulgence. However, there are certain times where we cannot do what a professional service can so consider finding a local dog boutique to help you out. When your pooch needs their nails cut or if you don’t have the space to give them a bath, take your dog to a parlor and get them to do it for you. While you’re there, you might also consider treating them to a massage; after all, dogs can get stressed too and light massages can help build circulation and relieve any stiffness.

Taking your dog out

What better way to spoil your dog and spend time with them than taking them out for a long walk, particularly when they are off the leash? Dogs love all that fun and freedom where they can explore an open space and this will also help the bond grow between you b

oth. Similarly, arrange playdates for you and your dog so you both enjoy the time spent in each other’s company alongside different companions for even more fun. Providing your dog with enough exercise is important to ensure they are fit and active, both mentally and physically.
